The majority of the LPAA’s activities revolve around advocacy. Our advocacy plans include:

  • Regional Cap-Wiz training for LPAA members
  • Attending Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C.
  • Encouraging members to invite legislators and their staff to events
  • Tracking the State’s cultural agenda
  • Offering monthly advocacy tips
  • Publishing an advocacy calendar
  • Compiling a set of legislative talking points
  • Maintaining strong relationships with legislative floor leaders
  • Promoting arts education
  • Advocating for increased arts funding
